Alfred C. Morton, Jr., 88, of Inverness, FL, passed away on January 30, 2021. He was born in Ashland, NH, on December 11, 1932, the son of the late Alfred Sr. and Charlotte Morton.
Alfred was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was also a man of many trades. While living in New Hampshire, he was a machinist, an equipment design engineer, and he worked as an electrician for many years at Sprague Electric in Plymouth, NH. Once he relocated to Florida, he was salesman, an electrical contractor and a building inspector for the Citrus County Government.
He enjoyed computers and ballroom dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Morton, sons, Steve Morton and his wife Julie, and Alan Morton and his wife Lois, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Ramon Cranert, Elaine Sowell and her husband Nathanael, Francis Cranert and his wife Lisa, and Timothy Cranert, seven step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Heinz Funeral Home in Inverness. At a later date, Mr. Morton will be laid to rest beside his first wife, Estelle Morton, in Ashland Memorial Cemetery, New Hampshire.
