Alma Tarantino , 93, of Inverness, FL died on May 28, 2017 at the Hospice of Citrus County House in Lecanto, FL surrounded by her family. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother (Nanny) and great grandma (G-Nanny) and friend. Alma was born December 24, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Giuseppe and Lena. She married the love of her life Salvatore F. Tarantino, II, and together they raised six children. Alma moved to Inverness, FL in 1978 from North Bellmore, NY. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, FL. She was the smiling face that greeted you as you strolled downtown Inverness. Although she blessed us with 93 years she will be greatly missed. Her legacy will continue to live through her family here on earth. Alma was preceded in death by her husband Salvatore F. Tarantino, II and son Salvatore F. Tarantino, III. Survivors include two sons, Michael Tarantino and his wife Jane of Weeki Wachee, FL, Christopher Tarantino and his wife Andrea of Williamsburg, VA, daughter in law Linda Tarantino of Dunnellon, FL. Three daughters, Jacquelyn Dey and her husband Bob of Inverness, FL, Ellie Smith and her husband Gary of Henrico, NC, Lori Amlicke and her husband Chris of Inverness, FL. Three brothers Angelo, Danny and Joseph, and sister Helen Delouise . Twelve grandchildren, Tristan, Jason, Chris Colby, April, Tiffany, Christy, Anthony, Grace, Aiden, Samantha, Gina and Angie. Five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Tarantino’s family will receive friends at the Heinz Funeral Home in Inverness, FL on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from the hours of 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a vigil service at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, FL.
