Ann Metzendorf, beloved mother, grandmother, and longtime resident of Hernando, Florida, passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 90. A two-time cancer survivor, Ann faced life’s challenges with resilience and unwavering courage. Born in Manhattan, New York, on February 24, 1934, Ann led a vibrant and fulfilling life.
She is survived by her three children: William Metzendorf and his wife, Suzanne; Robert Metzendorf and his wife, Marguerite; and Diane LaMarco and her husband, Thomas. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Meghan, Erin, Thomas, Matthew, and Katherine. Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Metzendorf, who passed away in 2018.
Ann was a woman of ambition and accomplishment. A successful entrepreneur and the proud owner of a Sir Speedy Printing Business, she was also a Paul Harris Fellow, a testament to her dedication to service. An avid reader, Ann filled her life with books, ideas, and a deep curiosity for the world.
A Memorial Service to honor her memory will be held at 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Heinz Funeral Home in Inverness. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a breast cancer organization of choice or to Habitat for Humanity, in honor of Ann’s enduring spirit and legacy.
