Anna Ruth “Ann” Chancey, 97, of Inverness departed peacefully on May 4, 2018. Ann was born in Dothan, Alabama, the daughter of Anna and Lawrence Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Chancey, and her three brothers; Ralph, Neal and Ed Clark. Ann is survived by two daughters; Elizabeth “Betty” Marshick and husband John of Inverness, FL and Sharon Adair and husband Dennis of Tierra Verde, FL, a grandson, Timothy Marshick and his wife Tamara and a great grandson, Austin, all of St. Petersburg, FL. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Heinz Funeral Home, 2507 Highway 44 West, Inverness, FL 34453.
Ann and her family moved to St. Petersburg in 1924. She married in 1941 and later worked at the Sears candy counter while raising her family. Ann and Claude moved to the Inverness area in 1969. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and playing bingo. She was devoted to her dog, CeCe. Her caregivers were like her second family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Hospice of Citrus County, 3350 W. Audubon Park Path, Lecanto, FL 34461 for their outstanding care and concern for Ann.
