Charles Jordan Richer

Charles (Hatzkel) Richer son of Morris and Ruth Richer was born November 5, 1936 in the Bronx in New York City and graduated from Hunter College. He retired in 2000 from Morse/Diesel International the 8th largest construction company in the world as Chief Information Officer. While at Morse Diesel International he taught an adult education class at New York University on using Data Processing for Construction Management.

His community achievements include the following: Past President, Board Member and Member of the Rotary Club of Inverness. During his leadership as President of the Rotary Club of Inverness he initiated a Mentoring Program at the Boys and Girls Club of Citrus County and led the Rotary Club of Inverness to win the 2011 Large Club of the Year Award. Past President and Board Member of Suncoast Business Masters, Past President and Board Member of Inverness Olde Town Association, Past Treasurer of Early Learning Coalition, past board member on the We Care Food Pantry, Inc., Spanish American Club of Citrus County and Thanksgiving Feeding Alliance.

His greatest passion was his wife Maribel Richer and family, sons: Seth D. Richer and daughter-in-law Maryann Richer, Manny Negron and daughter-in-law Gabriella Negron, daughters: Mandi Jacobs and Nicole Tillander and son-in-law Robert Tillander, grandchildren: Alexis Richer, Max Jacobs, Kayla Negron, Jayden Negron, and Olivia Tillander. Brother: Stanley Richer and Marion Richer sister-in-law and Edna Rivera sister-in-law. He also loved his fur grand babies along with many other nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Adopted son Rick Soto who spent countless hours entertaining Charlie and always making him smile. Rotarian Friends, Spanish American Club Friends and many other family members and friends near and dear to his heart.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, a donation to the Rotary Club of Inverness Charitable Foundation will be appreciated (please write Scholarship on memo line). A Celebration of Life will be held at Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, 2507 Hwy 44 West, Inverness, FL 34453 on Friday, June 25th, 2021 with a gathering at 3:00 pm and a service at 4:00 pm.
