Donald Marken

Donald Glenn Marken died at Hospice House in Lecanto Florida at the age of 77 on December 18,  2014 ….  And life for us will never be the same……

Don is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Patricia of Floral City, by his children; David Marken of High Springs, Florida, Tiffini Marken Brown, (Scottie) of Jupiter Florida and Douglas Marken of Floral City, Florida. By his grandchildren; Christopher, Courtney, Kelley, Scottie, Amber, Heather, Rachael, Andrew and Zachary and his great grandchildren Lily, Piper, Easton and Huck. By his 2 brothers Dennis Marken, (Tina) and Larry Marken, (Judy) and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his 2 sons; Michael Marken and Daniel Marken.

Don was born on December 10, 1937 in Topeka Kansas to Lily and Ronald “Red” Marken. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served his country faithfully before he married the love of his life, Patricia. After moving to Texas, he began a career working in the metal building industry. Over the years the couple welcomed 5 children into their home. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed riding motorcycles, and loved animals, especially his dogs. Don and Pat moved to Floral City 13 years ago and settled into retirement nicely.

Don was accomplished at many things. He served his church, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister and was a 4 ^th Degree Knight in Knights of Columbus. Don will be remembered by his family and friends as someone who was kind and generous.

A funeral mass is scheduled for January 16, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness, FL . The Knights of Columbus will say the Rosary at 11:15 AM and the 4 ^th Degree Color Corps service will follow.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Don’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
