Edith Fuis

Edith (Eydie) A. Fuis, 71, of Hernando, FL, passed away peacefully at her home on August 15,
2023 with family by her side. She was born Edith Anne Clifford in Port Chester, NY on July 3,
1952, to Fredrick Clifford and Marjorie Wheeler-Clifford. At a very young age she moved with
her family to Hialeah, FL. There she enjoyed growing up with her cousins camping and fishing
frequently.

Eydie, a six-year veteran of the US Navy fulfilled her duties in the field of meteorology. She
issued forecasts and frequently gave pilots their preflight weather briefings. She later entered
the insurance industry where she became a licensed independent agent specializing in personal
lines.

In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. She loved the ocean and frequented it
as often as possible. Eydie loved to cook and her food was always anticipated by those lucky
enough to sit down and enjoy the dishes she carefully prepared. She loved working in the yard
wherever she lived, but especially where she last lived in Hernando. There she also enjoyed
doing puzzles with her sister most every day it was not too cold or rainy.

Having no children, she loved raising several cats over many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Marjorie.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 44 years, Brian K. Fuis; sister, Mary; and brother, Fred.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Heinz
Funeral Home in Inverness. The family will start receiving friends one hour prior to the
service.

In lieu of flowers, Eydie’s family has requested donations be made to either the American
Cancer Society or the Humane Society of the United States.
