Edward Johnson

Edward Johnson, 74, of Inverness, FL died on July 24, 2014 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. Ed was born on July 20, 1940 in Rockville Centre, NY, son of Alfred and Margaret (Abrams) Johnson. He was a veteran of the USAF. Ed retired from Verizon after 35 years of service and moved to Inverness in 2004where he was President and Treasurer of Inverness Landing Property Owners Assoc. for many years. He was an avid golfer, race car driver, hunter and fisherman and loved softball and camping. In Uniondale, NY, Ed coached both soccer and Little League and was President of the Uniondale Little League for 5 years.

Ed was an amazing father and grandfather. He was also there for all of his nieces, nephews and their children. Ed was truly a wonderful family man who had a way of making everyone feel important.

He was the husband of Doris (Baldwin) Johnson, father of Michael Barnett and Darlene Margaret Johnson, Father-in-law of Kerry (McComb) Johnson, Grandfather of AshleyKristine Johnson and Kyle Barnett Johnson, Brother of William Johnson (deceased) Brother-in-law of Sedgewick Baldwin and Virginia Nicolino (his best friend) Nieces and nephews; Susan Jacobs (Gene) Harry Nicolino, Jeannie Fitzpatrick (Dan), James Nicolino, Donna Nicolio, William Johnson (deceased) Debora,and Julie Ann Bove. Also many many great nieces and nephews and great graet nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life for Mr. Johnson will be held from 1pm to 3pm  on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Heinz Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be held in NY at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast.  Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.
