Ernest Hopper

Ernest T. Hopper, 83, of Hernando, FL died on June 1, 2016 at his home.  Ernest was born February 23, 1933 in Bellmore, NY, the fourth of five children of Ernest M. and Mary Agnes Hopper.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  Ernest was a police officer in Hempstead, NY.  He retired and moved to Citrus County in 1980.  Ernest was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Citrus Spring, FL.

Mr. Hopper was preceded in death by his wife Janice Hopper in 2013 and two daughters, Sharon and Colleen.  Survivors include six children, Sean Hopper of Hernando, FL, Timothy Hopper of Hernando, FL, Brenden Hopper of McKenzie, TN, Christine Hopper of Dunnellon, FL, Ernest Hopper of Inverness, FL, and Kelly Laurito of Charlotte, NC; sister, Rosemarie Hopper of Oakdale, NY; brother James Hopper of Palm Beach, FL; thirteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Mr. Hopper will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Citrus Springs, FL.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.  Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.
