Eugenia Christie

Eugenia B. Christie 87, of Hernando, FL died on February 5, 2014 at

her residence. Eugenia was born on December 3, 1926 in Conway, SC, the daughter of William and Barbara Barnhill.  She moved to Hernando, FL in 2007 from Miami, FL.

Eugenia graduated from Conway High School-Class of 1943- in Conway, SC. Eugenia then attended Coker College for 2 years in Hartsville, SC. She moved to Miami and attended the University of Miami where she studied music and took voice lessons. She had a beautiful voice and sang on the radio and in her church. She was Presbyterian.

Eugenia attended the Conway High School 60th Class reunion in 2003 and enjoyed spending time with her friends and classmates.

Mrs. Christie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Stephen T. Christie. Survivors include her sons, Stephen Christie of  Unicoi, TN,

Scot Christie, of  Miami, FL, daughter, Cathy Enberg of Hernando, FL, brother, John Hall Barnhill of SC, grandchildren, Rachel, Annie, Patrick, Sarah, and Christine and great grandson Evan.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to the hour of services at the Heinz Funeral Home on Friday, Feb 7, 2014.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
