George T. McNeil, Jr., 87 of Beverly Hills, FL died on September 7, 2014 at Seven Rivers Medical Center. George was born in New Haven, CT on June 12, 1927 the son of George and Catherine McNeil. He was a US Navy World War II veteran. Early in his career he was employed by the McNeil Oyster Company in New Haven, Connecticut.  He retired from State Products as a salesman.  George held degrees from Quinnipiac University and the University of Bridgeport.  He moved to Beverly Hills, FL in 1996 from Wallingford, CT. George was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hernando, FL. George was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis H. McNeil in January 2008.

Mr. McNeil is survived by a son Donald McNeil and his wife Anne and their two children Michael and Amy McNeil of Homosassa, FL and a son Douglas McNeil of Phoenix, AZ.  He is also survived by a brother Robert McNeil of Wallingford, CT. and a sister Nancy Hagar of Tilson, NY.

Mr. McNeil’s family will receive friends at the Heinz Funeral Home on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 10:00 am to the hour of service. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am. Pastor Kenneth Blyth will preside. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL is in charge of arraignment.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 439 E Norvell Bryant Hwy, Hernando, FL 34442.
