Gerald Sheldon

Gerald Sheldon, 93, Homosassa, FL, passed away peacefully at home on October 14, 2021.  He was born on July 29, 1928 in Carthage, NY, son of the late Leslie and Mary Sheldon.

Jerry was a veteran of the US Air Force.  He worked as a lineman and later became a supervisor for the New York Telephone Company.  He retired from the company after forty years of loyal service. Jerry enjoyed numerous hobbies such as golf, photography, and woodworking.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, leaving them with many precious memories.

He is survived by his children, Patti Sheldon (Robert Orem), Jerry Sheldon (Laurie), Terri Craig (Bob), Peggy Rachubka (Ron), Penny Webb (Dale), Marty Sheldon (Karen), and Kathy Graham (William), sister Jean Cameron (Bill). He had 17 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Mr. Sheldon was predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Kay (Latham), and second wife, Mary Holland.

A funeral mass will be held at St James’ Catholic Church, Carthage, NY, November 15.  All are welcome to greet the family from 10:00 AM- 11:00AM at the church.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following visitation at 11:00 AM.
