Gerard Bilodeau

Gerard “Gerry” Bilodeau , 69, of Hernando, FL, died on September 11, 2017 at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL.  Gerry was born on October 2, 1947 in Holyoke, MA, the son of Jean B. and Annette Bilodeau.  Gerry was a US Army Veteran serving during Vietnam.  He worked for Digital in Westfield, MA for 20 years before handling IT for the Springfield, MA Public School System, and finally was a computer software engineer for Phoenix Home Life Insurance Company in Enfield, CT.   He moved to Citrus Hills in 2005 from West Springfield, MA.  Gerry was a member of MENSA and of St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto, FL.

Mr. Bilodeau was preceded in death by his parents, son John Thomas Garczynski, II and his grandson Kevin Garczynski.   Survivors include his wife Barbara M. Bilodeau of Hernando, FL; children, Laura Morgan and her husband Wayne of Waco, TX, Joseph M. Garczynski and his fiancée Nancy Fletcher of Longwood, FL and Christopher Garczynski and his wife Jennifer of San Tan Valley, AZ; three sisters, Jeanette Bilodeau of Chicopee, MA, Carmen Richards of St. Cloud, FL and Theresa Bilodeau-Dreksler of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren, John Thomas Garczynski, III of Virginia Beach, VA, Sarah Couchon, Amber Ludwig, and Nathan Couchon all of Mesa, AZ, Summer and Sierra Bond both of San Tan Valley, AZ and Aria Garczynski of Shrewsbury, MA.

A funeral mass for Mr. Gerard Bilodeau will be offered  at 10:00 am on Monday, September 25, 2017 at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto, FL.  Interment with military honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.  Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.  heinzfh.com
