Jan E. Hengtgen

Jan E. Hengtgen, 74, of Inverness, FL passed away on January 16, 2025, in Tampa. She was born to Norman and Joan Holtz in Elgin, IL on September 30, 1950.

Jan retired from International Paper after 20+ years of service. She, along with her husband, Jim, lived and raised their family in Hampshire, IL for many years. She later enjoyed retirement in Inverness, FL where she loved long walks in the neighborhood, reading by the pool, tending to her many flowers and plants and taking numerous Caribbean cruises. However, her #1 love was spending time with her family.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Norm and Joan, and her brother, Jeffrey. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Jim of 50 years, daughters Erin (Ned) Swanson and Deborah (Rob) Lessnau and granddaughters Greta Swanson, Claire Sherlock and Natalie Sherlock. Also surviving are many dear brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Private cremation is under the direction of Heinz Funeral Home in Inverness, FL and a celebration of life will be held later in the summer in Illinois.
