Jeannette O'Leary

Jeannette O’Leary, 85, of Inverness, Florida died Thursday, June 14, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband; John O’Leary, sisters, Rita, Yvette, Doris, brother; Norman, and one grandson; John Paul Flamion. She is survived by her children; Peggy McAteer and husband Robert, Cerry Kocak and her husband Robert, John “Skipper” O’Leary and his wife Judy, Jace O’Leary and his wife Deborah, Bernadette Polichetti and her husband Josef, grandchildren; Shannon, Nathan, Misty, Mindy, Justin, Jace, Patrick, Shane, Noah, Joel, and Kevin, great-grandchildren; Trenton, Brody, and Skyler. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Jeannette was born in Warwick, RI. She grew up in the East Greenwich area on the Bay. She enjoyed rowing; swimming and being anywhere near the ocean. Jeannette was married to John O’Leary in 1950. They were neighbors and High School Sweethearts. They lived in Rhode Island for 43 years. They were married for 64 years, before John’s death, in 2015.

Jeannette’s passion was her faith and her family. She always offered the best advice to her children and grandchildren. She loved them immensely and unconditionally. Jeanette and John retired to Wilmington, NC in 1993 and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and beaches of the North Carolina coast.Jeannette was very involved with her church. She was a Eucharistic Minister in Wilmington, NC and here, in Inverness, FL. Anyone that knew Jeannette recognized her strong faith in the Lord.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June  18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service to be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Heinz Funeral Home  located at 2507 Hwy 44 West Inverness, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church located at 550 US-41 Inverness, Florida. Interment will follow in Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City, Florida. Heinz Funeral Home and Cremation.
