John M. Fraser, Jr. 84 of Hernando, FL died on April 30, 2016 at Hospice House in Lecanto, FL. He was born on May 5, 1931 to Estelle (Leard) and John M. Fraser in Jamaica Plain, MA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Thelma R. (Hatch) Fraser; his children John, III of Hope Valley, RI; Judith (Stanley E. Parese) of Williamstown, MA; Linda (Edward Saravolac) of Auckland, New Zealand; grandsons Maxx F. Dunn of Sydney, Australia and Jackson E. Parese of Williamstown, MA. He also was pre-deceased by son Kenneth H. Fraser.
John, known to all as Jack, began his nearly 39-year career at the RI Hospital Trust National Bank as a messenger in 1948 and retired in 1987 as senior vice president. A man with a brilliant mind, he was a creative and trail-blazing banker, who always was devoted to meeting his customers’ needs.
Jack served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was deeply patriotic and proudly flew the American flag over his Florida home every day of the year. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A kind and thoughtful man, Jack was a friend to many in Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Florida and those he met over the course of his career all over the world.
