John F. ”Jack”  Hillard, 82, of Hernando, FL died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Ocala Regional Medical Center. John was born April 18, 1932 in North Adams, MA the son of John and Mabel Hillard.  He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star.  John graduated from University of Massachusetts in 1958 with a degree in mechanical engineering and worked for Texaco Laboratory for 33 years.  He moved to Citrus Hills in 2000 from Wappingers Falls, NY.

John was preceded in death by his son, Peter and his wife Sandra in 1983 and by his sister, Nancy Allen. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol Ann Hillard of Hernando, FL; son, Neal Hillard and wife  Suzanne of Guyton, GA; daughters, Karen  Williamson and her husband Mark of Hoover, AL, and Susan Hillard and Mike Oliveto of Longwood, FL; sister, Sally Ottman of North Adams, MA;  grandchildren, Christian Williamson and wife Monica, John Williamson and wife Allyson, Jontai Binder and husband Brian, Joshua Hillard, Alicia Reardon, Samantha Matthews and husband Brad, Kerry Rothlauf and Kelly Rothlauf; great grandchildren, Zachary Binder, Julianna Binder, Makaley Binder, Kolbe Binder, Rebecca Robinson, and Serenity Hillard; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Hillard will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Heinz Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.  Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the excellent care he received from the Trauma Team and Staff at Ocala Regional Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to Hospice of the Nature Coast or Citrus United Basket.
