John C. Lanoue, known as “handsome John”, 83, of Lecanto, FL passed away on Sept 13th, 2022 in the loving care at the Vitas Hospice House in Lecanto. Born Sept 26, 1938, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to parents Rosaire (57) and Gertrude (90) Lanoue. John was just 13 days shy of his 84th birthday.
John came to retire in the Citrus County Area in 1994 from Cincinnati, Ohio after selling his successful business in Air tool repair and sales.
John was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. John was honored to be remembered as “Diane’s husband” at Our Lady of Fatima. He was extremely generous with his time, money, and sacrifices for his faith in the Catholic Church.
An eccentric and genuine man, John will forever be missed within the local racing community. John was always known as the “car guy” or the “one who had it first”. To many friends John had a love and true compassion for cars whether it be hanging around in the pits or cheering on his local friends George and Herb Neumann. His love for life was contagious and truly a blessing for all.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Diane Lanoue (2004), and his brother Frank Lanoue (94). Remembered and survived by his four loving sisters Denise Lanoue, Pauline Noel, Annette Belisle and Michelle Lanoue.
The family extends its gratitude to the clergy from Our Lady of Fatima; Fr. James Johnson, Fr. Tim Cummings and Fr. Claudius for their blessings upon John, and to his longtime friend Debbie Sosnicki.
We extend our invitation to join us in his Celebration of Life. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 2:00 PM – 4:00PM and from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, at Heinz Funeral Home in Inverness.
