John James Pfenning , 89, of Beverly Hills, Florida, passed away on Monday October 26, after years of declining health.
John was born in New York on October 27, 1925. He is one of 9 children and has only one surviving brother – Ron (Helen) Pfenning in Westbury NewYork. John worked in retail management and held several jobs in security when he finally retired and relocated to Florida in 1992 to be closer to his sisters and brothers.
He is preceded by his first wife Grace and first born son John. He is also preceded by his second wife Betty Pfenning and daughter Wendy Cason.
The family will receive friends at Heinz Funeral Home in Inverness, Florida for a celebration of life with Hospice of Citrus County officiating on Monday November 2 nd . Also a memorial service will be held at The Church at Camp Manna in Mocksville, NC on November 11 th at 4pm with Pastor Stan Riddle assisting the family.
John is survived by his two daughters, Jonni (Joe) Seal of Beverly Hills, FL and Marybeth Wiedel of Mocksville, NC. Three grandchildren; Nicholas (Brite) Helenek, Joey Seal and Collin Wiedel and a very special great grand child, Cordelia Helenek, as well other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to any chapter of Hospice Services or local church. The family wishes to thank his caregiver for the last 7 years, Paula Bachesta and Hospice of Citrus County for their work with our Dad.
