JOSEPH GRIMAUDO 1931 – 2022
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh……
God has made everything suitable for its time (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Joseph (Joe, Pop, Poppy) Grimaudo, age 90, was called home by our Lord on 07/21/2022 and
reunited with his beloved wife Carmela.
Joe was born in Brooklyn, New York on 9/30/1931. He retired from banking and in 1981 he
moved to Inverness with his wife Carmela after purchasing the Godfather’s Pizza on Hwy 41
South in Inverness. He resumed his banking career and was vice president of Citizens 1st
National Bank. In 2000 he retired, leaving both the banking and restaurant businesses.
Joe was a man of deep faith and served as the Sacristan of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic
Church for 16 years before completely retiring. He also volunteered in many ministries at the
church, especially as co-chair of the Bingo committee. He was past Grand Knight of the Knights
of Columbus Council 6391 and a member of the 4th Degree.
He will be missed by his children: Nicholas (Jeanne) Grimaudo and Annette Tremante. (He
was predeceased by son-in-law Enrico Tremante).
Also cherishing his memory and missing their Poppy are his grandchildren, Joe (Melissa)
Grimaudo, Nicholas (Julia) Grimaudo, Eric (Beket) Tremante, Leanna (Erik) Boynton & Cristina
Tremante; his great-grandchildren Callie, Evan, LL, Mariella, Harrison & Amari. And his best fur
friend Benji. We will really miss his silly songs, whistling, calming presence & sound advice.
On Thursday, July 28 at Heinz Funeral Home, 2507 Hwy 44 W., Inverness. There will be a
Rosary led by the Knights of Columbus at 5:30 PM and then a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM with Fr.
Claudius Mganga.
The Funeral Mass will take place Friday, July 29th at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic
Church, 550 US Hwy 41 S., Inverness. Following the Mass, Joe will be laid to rest beside his
wife Carmela at Fero Memorial Gardens in Beverly Hills.
