Joseph P. Rinaldi , 91, formerly of Inverness, FL, died on October 7, 2014 at Baptist Medical Center South, Jacksonville, FL. Joseph was born on August 2, 1923 in Greenwich, Connecticut the son of Frank and Maria (Barca) Pignataro. He was a letter carrier in Port Chester, NY. Joseph served in the Army during WWII and Korea. In WWII, he was in the 3 rd Army div and served under General Patton in 5 battles including Normandy. He served throughout the European theater of operations.
Joseph was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6391, Disabled American Veterans Post #70, VFW Post #4337, and American Legion Post #77 all of Inverness, FL. He enjoyed gardening and collecting coins.
Joseph is survived by his wife Joyce Rinaldi, Jacksonville, FL, son, Joseph Ward Rinaldi and his wife Pamela of Dutchess County, NY, daughter, Angela Marie Weaver and her husband William, Middleburg, FL, grandchildren, Jason J. Weaver and Michelle L. Jett.
Joseph's family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM at the Heinz Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct 11, 2014 with a service at 1:00 PM. Entombment will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens, Beverly Hills, FL.
