June Beverly Scheer, 100, affectionately known as Nana June to her friends, family, and
Uber drivers, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, in Tavares, Florida. Born on
February 4, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, June’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter,
and enduring friendships.
June was a cherished daughter of the late Philip and Minerva Kramer. June’s heart
found its match when she married Frederick “Bud” Scheer. Together, they built a
beautiful life, married for over 61 years. June & Bud had two daughters, Nancy and
Madilynn.
June’s legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her 11 grandchildren and their
spouses, her 31 great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandson. She is preceded in
death by her husband, her two daughters, and her sons-in-law, and they now welcome
her to eternal rest.
June excelled in her professional life working as a Branch Manager at Chase Manhattan
Bank. She also shined in creating a warm and inviting home for her family and friends.
Her presence was a comfort and a joy to all who knew her.
Her interests were as vibrant and varied as her personality. June loved doing word
search puzzles, watching game shows, volunteering at the Catholic Church and Meals
on Wheels, dancing with her husband, fishing, and hosting and attending parties and
events at various social and service clubs. Those who knew June would describe her as
friendly, spirited, and loving—a woman who was never afraid to speak her mind and
who would often leave people laughing. Her love for God and her family was her guiding
force, and her actions reflected the depth of her caring and commitment to those she
held dear.
In her later years, June found extraordinary companionship in her granddaughter Kathy,
who became her caretaker. Kathy’s unwavering dedication and compassion not only
ensured June’s physical well-being but also enriched her life with love and warmth.
June’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her spirit will
continue to inspire and guide us. Her life was a testament to the power of love, the
importance of family, and the joy of friendship. As we say goodbye to June, we also
celebrate the extraordinary life she led and the countless ways she enriched our lives.
She will be deeply missed, but we are all excited to know she is dancing in the presence
of Jesus.
The family will hold a private ceremony at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with
internment following at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
