Katherine Ryan

Katherine M. Ryan , 97, of Inverness, FL, died on July 6, 2017 under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County.  Katherine was born on March 13, 1920 in New Yor k City; the daughter of John and Mary Sior. She moved to the country after her marriage to Joseph Patrick.  She embraced the country life, raising Boxers, breeding horses and growing cherries in the Catskill Mountains.

Katherine lost her parents at a young age and from that taught her children the value of finding fulfillment in working hard for her family.

Katherine was a wonderful loving mother to her children and in laws, a beloved grandmother and a sweet Gigi.  She leaves a legacy of love and a generosity of spirit.

She is survived by five children, Christine Algeo and her husband Mark of Inverness, FL, Fran Head and her husband Davi d of Harwich Port, MA,  Patricia Stokes and her husband Thomas of Hernando, FL , Joseph Ryan and his wife Debbie o f Lecanto, FL, Maura Brown and her husband Alan of Horseheads , NY; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial mass for Katherine M. Ryan will be offered at 11:00 am on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, FL.  In lieu of flowers, her family request donations to Hospice of Citrus County and the Nature Coast, install a blue bird house or plant a special something in her memory.
