Kurt Paul Stumpfernagel lived to be 90 years old. He was born in Würzburg, Germany, and lived through WWII, after which he immigrated to America in 1957. Today, his memory lives on with his three children, Paul, Eva, and Heidi, and his stepdaughter, Kathy and his grandchildren Samantha, Naomi, Juliette, Andrea, Larry, and Tyler. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he enjoyed being alongside them at various times.
His love for cats was evident throughout his days, and he spent his time adopting and helping countless animals. Baxter and Seamore were his two loyal companions, staying by his side and granting him endless humor.
He retired to Florida, where he became an active member in his church and community, attending church weekly and volunteering at the sheriffs department in Citrus County for many years.
He enjoyed working with his hands, and was often found in his shop, creating beautiful wood pieces for display. Kurt also enjoyed bowling and antique shopping, which his granddaughters also enjoy doing. They treasure the antique items that he shared with them. While at home, Kurt loved keeping up with sports, and he never missed his daily viewing of The Price is Right.
Kurt liked to “give people a hand”, a gentle round of applause to encourage them with whatever they might be doing. He had a mischievous glimmer in his eye whenever he did it, a reminder of how much of a kid we all truly are. He was loved and will be missed and we look forward to seeing him again. For Revelation 21:3, 4 says this “And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more. Neither will mourning, nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
