Lawrence Steele

Lawrence A. Steele, 72, of Hernando, FL, died peacefully on July 24, 2015 at his residence under the loving care of his family and HPH Hospice. Larry displayed great dignity through a devastating disease. Lawrence was born in Gowanda, NY, on August 10, 1942, the son of  Nora Steele. He was an electronics technician and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Lawrence moved to Hernando 12 years ago from Depew, NY. He loved spending time with family, was a dog lover, enjoyed bicycling, was an avid sports fan, and had a passion for electronics. Lawrence was a member of CERT- Community Emergency Response Team.

Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gladys Steele, his mother, Nora, his sisters: Regina Whitham and her husband Ed of Angola, NY, Anne Semrau and her husband Jim of Arcade, NY, and brother William Benes of Las Vegas, NV, children; Sean Steele and wife Jill of Depew, NY, Kelly Sundberg and her husband Michael of Jacksonville, FL, Larry Steele Jr. and his wife Dawn of Lafayette, LA, Debbie Green and her husband Frank of Safety Harbor, FL, Dawn Barnum and her husband Jim of Ashland City, TN, Bill Steele and his wife Liz of Clearwater, FL,13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 am. at Heinz Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 am. until the hour of service.
