Lawrence "Larry" Priola

Lawrence “Larry” A. Priola, 72, of Hernando, FL passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.  Larry was born on October 9, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY, son of Lawrence and Marion Priola.  He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving as a radio communications specialist during Vietnam and the Cuban Missile Crisis.  Larry received his associate’s degree during his service. He was employed as a distributor for the New York Times, Daily News, and Crescent News.  Larry moved to Hernando in 1992 from Dingmans Ferry, PA.  He was a catholic.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Marion; sisters, Marion and Carol; and brother, James.  Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sue Priola of Hernando, FL; three children, Heather Stone of Riverview, FL, Marie Abdale and husband James of Gainesville, FL, and Larry A. Priola, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; and granddaughter, Julie Abdale.

Mr. Priola’s family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Heinz Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with Military Honors.
