Margaret F. Gustavus, 92, of Inverness, FL died on February 18, 2017 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto. Margaret was born on September 18, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of Felix and Mary Short. She was a telephone operator for AT&T in New York. Margaret moved to Inverness, FL in 1985 from Franklin, NY. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, FL. Margaret was also a member of Florida Wheeler Square Dancers in Brooksville, FL.
Mrs. Gustavus was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Gustavus in 2011 as well as her daughter, Judith Short and sister, Marion Dawe. Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Marino and husband Donald of Lindenhurst, NY and Ellen Costanza of Ambler, PA; her son, Edward Gustavus, Jr. and wife, Melisa of Citrus Springs, FL; her sister Joan Troiano of Port Charlotte, FL; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Heinz Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL. heinzfh.com
