Nancy Kay (Britton) Runyon passed away peacefully and surrounded by love on April 15, 2025 at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto after an acute illness but several years of failing health.
Nancy was born in Galion, Ohio on September 12, 1946 to Harry Wayne and Evelyn Louise (Sharrock) Britton who preceded her in death.
On October 10, 1964, she married David Runyon, who preceded her in death on February 12, 2019, after 54 years of marriage.
Nancy was also preceded in death by two brothers; Steven Britton a casualty of Vietnam, and Ronald Britton.
Nancy is survived by her four children; daughter, Lori (Stephen) Clarke of Citrus Springs, Florida; sons, Michael (Kathy) Runyon of Fleming Island, Florida, Steven (Amy) Runyon of Hilliard, Ohio, and Edward (Jessica) Runyon of South Vienna, Ohio.
Nancy is also survived by her grandchildren - Sullivan (Lori & Stephen); Dominic, Desiree, Ryan, Alyssa, and Noah (Mike and Kathy); Josiah, Jeremiah, Jordan and Jazzlynn (Ed &Jessica); Nicholas, Nathan and Jake (Steve & Amy). Nancy loved nothing more than being a grandma.
Nancy is also survived by an aunt Lois Yoha of Mansfield, Ohio, numerous cousins, special niece and nephew Dirk and Julie Britton of Galion, Ohio; all of whom she very much loved. Nancy also had great love for her husband’s cousins, Sandy Oswalt and Erica Palmer.
Nancy is also survived by a very special lifelong best friend, Shelley Armstrong, of South Euclid, Ohio, whom she held a strong bond of love.
Nancy maintained love for many childhood and school friends from the 1964 class Crestline High School.
Nancy was a dedicated and faithful member of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1972 and was a member of the Dunnellon Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Nancy’s faith was extremely important and her beliefs were her foundation on how she lived her life.
Nancy was known for her quick wit and humor, kindness and generosity. Nancy loved to sew and crochet, and also enjoyed making crafts for others. Nancy was also an avid animal lover with two special dogs, Ruby and Riley.
A Memorial will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 3 p.m. 619 East Withlacoochee Trail, Dunnellon Florida with a meal/refreshments following.
