Philip Hussey

Philip D. Hussey , 82, of Hernando, FL, died on March 25, 2014 at his residence.  Philip was born on May 20, 1931 in Salem, MA, the son of  William and Blanche Hussey.  He served in the U.S. Army.

Philip retired from American Can Co. with 36 years of service and was President of  IAM Local Union in Portland, MA. He moved to Hernando in 1997 from Beverly, MA. He was Past President of the Italian Social Club, Hernando, FL. Other memberships included the Elks, Inverness Moose Lodge 2112, DAV, and American Legion. Philip was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness, FL.

Survivors include his wife, Claire Hussey of  Hernando, FL; four children,

Julie Graham (Fred) Sharps Chapel, TN, Laurie Hussey ( Jim Lindsay) Arlington, MA; brother, Ralph Hussey;  sister, Nancy Nadeau

Grandchildren; Christopher Graham, Lindsay Graham, Michael Foley, Joseph Foley Amanda Hussey, Brian Hussey, Philip Hussey and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours for Mr. Hussey will be from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday

March, 30, 2014 at Heinz Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on

Monday, March 31, 2014 at 10am  at Our Lady of  Fatima Church, Inverness, FL. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.
