Ronald E. Kenyon, 82, of Inverness, FL died on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Ronald was born on April 1, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA, son of Wilson and Nancy Kenyon. He grew up in Bradford, RI. Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He married Mary Donahue on December 18, 1954 and they raised their family in Mystic, CT for 35 years. Ron worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for 35 years. He moved to Inverness in 1999 from Knoxville, TN. Ron was a member of the First Christian Church of Inverness where he served as a deacon, board member, and director of the Church Health Ministry. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16 in Connecticut and the Union Lodge No 31 AF&AM in Niantic, CT.
Mr. Kenyon was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Kenyon, granddaughter, Tegan Post and brother, Lemual A. Kenyon. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Janet Kenyon of Inverness, FL; four children, Lois Pettit and husband Jacques of Inverness, FL, Deborah Tramel and husband Robert of Inverness, FL, Ellen Shinn of Stonington, CT, and Peter Kenyon and partner Poa Phannadee of Tampa, FL; sister, Fern Stewart and husband Jim of Lancaster, PA; five grandchildren, Christopher Annino of Groton, CT, Johnathon Post (Janet Brinyark) of TN, Michelle Post (Tiffany Taylor) of Knoxville, TN, Gregory Post (Denise) of Stonington, CT, and Brenda Kellebrew (Grayson) of NC; and twelve great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mr. Kenyon will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the First Christian Church of Inverness, 2018 Colonade St ., Inverness. Interment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL will be at private. Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL. heinzfh.com
