Salvatore Caruana

Salvatore A. Caruana , 84, of Beverly Hills, FL, passed peacefully from this life on October 25, 2014 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.  Salvatore was born on March 8, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Catrina and Giuseppe Caruana.   He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp.   Salvatore was a printers apprentice in New York before retiring to Florida.   He moved to Beverly Hills, FL in 2005 from West Palm Beach, FL.  He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills and the Knights of Columbus. Sal was an avid golfer who played at every opportunity.  He had an enormous zest for life.  The world will be a quieter place without him.  Survivors include his wife Rose of Beverly Hills, FL, five children: Christopher Caruana and his wife  Karen of Queens, NY, Jeffrey Caruana and his wife Sandy of Freehold, NJ, Peter Caruana of Toms River, NJ, Jane Morrell and her husband John of Basking Ridge NJ and Julie Sager of Raleigh, NC; five step children:  Teresa Hamalak and her husband Mike of Edison, NJ, Linda Avvenire and her husband Mario of Brooklyn, NY, Mary Stracquadanio and her husband Louis of Morganville, NJ, Valerie Venezia and her husband Danny of Lecanto, FL and Fred Klink and his wife Dianne of Long Island, NY: 12 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends to numerous to count.  Salvatore’s family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to the hour of service on Friday,  October 31, 2014 at the Heinz Funeral Home in Inverness, FL.  Father Theo Weria will begin services at 4:00 pm.  A Military Honor Service will follow Fr. Theo Weria.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Citrus County.  Envelopes will be provided at the funeral.  Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.
