My Momma
My mom, Shirley Louise Wright, 60, of Floral City, FL, was called home on January 13, 2021, after fighting the battle of stage 4 cancer three times over the course of five years.
She was preceded in death, in 2018, by my dad, David Wayne Wright, and she lost a part of herself without him. But the pure unfathomable love she had for her husband, surviving parents, Louise and Jack Farrel and Wayne and June Maddox, family, people, and her children, Donnie Grant, Tami Grant, James Wright, Brian Wright and Sarah Wright, was incomparable to anything I’ve known.
My mom loved to love people and after graduating from Dixie Holland High in 1978, she fulfilled the most important position any one person could hold. My mom was a beacon of light for anyone lost. She was a warm embrace when it was cold. She was a help up when you were knocked down, and the smile you didn’t know you needed. She’d give the last 20 bucks she had to help you out. She was a shoulder to cry on. She was my best friend, my confidant, and the definition of selflessness.
The world is a darker place without her and Heaven isn’t Heaven without my Momma.
