Vanessa Mae West, age 63, passed away at home from a long-term illness, on October
29, 2024. She was born December 26, 1960, in Marietta, Ohio to the late Kellum (O.K.)
Sevy and Geneva (Mayhugh) Sevy. She was a member of Citrus Missionary Baptist
Church in Inverness, FL. She will be greatly missed by many loved ones and
remembered for her warmth, contagious laugh, and her silly, sarcastic sense of humor.
Whether brief encounters or those who knew her well, people always said she was such
a sweet lady and loved her smile. She leaves behind her husband of forty-five years,
A.D. West; daughter, Hannah Anthony; daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and John
Sulecki; bonus granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Monica and Atalya McClure; a
sister, Myrtis (Michael) Krikau; two brothers; Deven (Laura) Sevy and Darren (Tammy)
Sevy; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her
parents, still-born twin boys and two other children from pregnancy loss, and nine
grandchildren from pregnancy loss.
On Sunday, November 10, a meal will be served for family and friends at 12:30 p. m.
followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m at Citrus Missionary Baptist Church, 6690 E.
Turner Camp Road, Inverness, Florida. Family requests for those who attend the
services to please wear yellow, Vanessa’s favorite color.
